Stigma doesn’t just happen randomly. It’s fueled by certain drivers that are the underlying reasons people judge or exclude others. The key drivers of stigma are:






Drivers don’t appear out of nowhere, but instead they’re shaped by influences like culture, media, and personal experience. Some common influences are what is considered acceptable or normal behaviour called social norms, social communication & interaction, social history, and power dynamics between people.
